homemade almond milk

  • 1 cup of almonds (or hazelnuts)
  • 6 cups of water
  • optional: 2-3 dates

Cover the almonds with 2 cups of water and let them sit for 8-24 hours.

Then wash the nuts and put them into the blender with the dates (instead you can add honey, sugar, cocoa powder, maple syrup or anything you like really) with about 2-3 cups of water to start with. Mix them really really well, for at least 2 minutes. If it is too thick for you, add some more water.

If you like you can stop here and drink your milk like this… or you can continue:

Filter the milk with the help of a clean kitchen towel. Pour it into an empty bottle and store in the fridge.
